7 Things to Do Immediately After Launching Your Website

Read this post to learn about 7 essential things you must do after launching your website | Website tips

So you’ve got yourself a shiny new website. Awesomesauce! But… now what? If that’s the question that ran through your mind immediately after the initial excitement wore off, first let me assure you, you’re not the only one. It’s one of the questions I am often asked by my design clients which leads me to my second point: I’ve got answers.

A simple answer is now that you have a website, you need to focus your energy on bringing visitors to your site. You need to craft an effective marketing strategy. One that will actually put you in front of your ideal audience and pique their curiosity so they click on over and come check out your new beautiful website and services.

In other words, it’s time to get visible. Because let’s face it: without visibility, all of that wonderful goal setting and planning will be futile. Much like trying to resist the Borg.

So, let’s talk about visibility. More specifically, how to create it.

1. Get to know your audience

Knowing your audience is probably the magical answer for just about anything business-building related. But that’s only because knowing your audience like you know your BFF is powerful beyond belief.

When you know your ideal clients, you can create blog posts that help them identify a need for your programs and services. You can create products that make them feel like you’ve created those specifically for them. You can get reactions “OH.MY.GOD. Is she in my head??”.

And when you get that type of reaction? The world becomes your oyster. You’ll see more loyal followers, more fans, more email subscribers, and ultimately, more clients.

2. Create a quick-fix for their burning problem

The first step to start attracting your audience is to create a quick-fix for their most pressing problem. Whether that’s helping them figure out how to get past their money blocks or how to streamline their processes more effectively, your quick-fix needs to give them a … quick win.

This can be in the form of a freebie download such as a checklist or a mini training. BUT… it can also be in the form of a paid mini consultation session. The point here isn’t to make you rich, it’s to establish your authority and credibility so they can see how much awesomeness you can bring into their life and business.

3. Go where your audience is

So now that you have those two in place, it’s time to actually get in front of your audience. This means you need to go hang out where they would hang out online. Do they spend their time on Facebook groups? If the answer is yes, then you need to join those same groups, come from a place of giving, and engage so they notice you.

Perhaps they’re on Instagram? In that case, get active on there, share Instagram stories or go live and make sure to use hashtags that they would use so you have better chances of showing up in their feed.

What I’m saying here is that there is no point in spending all your time doing #allthethings and being active on #alltheplatforms. No, that’s not effective and will lead to burn out and bitterness sooner than you think.

Instead, focus on one or two platforms and get on their radar there. On top of simplifying your marketing strategy, you’ll actually see results from your marketing so it’s a win-win situation no matter how you look at it.

4. Make use of Pinterest

If you’re still using Pinterest for personal reasons and not as a business, you’re missing out on tons of traffic. In fact, Pinterest alone is responsible for 76% of all my traffic to my website.

Pinterest is more than just a place where you go to save living room decor ideas and healthy recipes. It’s a powerful search engine that can turn into your biggest traffic source. When used for business purposes, it puts you in front of your audience AND it leads them to your site where you can really shine and show off your awesomeness through your blog posts.

To use Pinterest effectively, you’ll need to create boards that are not only relevant to your business but also for your audience. Think as they would think when they come to Pinterest to find a solution for their problem and create boards and content for those boards around that.

5. Make sure your website has CTAs in all the right places

If you’re a smart cookie, you’ll follow the tip above and make the most out of Pinterest. This means Pinterest will be driving traffic to your site so you need to make sure your website has CTAs or calls to action in all the right places.

All the right places include every page on your site. Your homepage should have several calls to action that take visitors through your site and point them to where you want them to go. Other pages such as About or blog posts should have a single call to action so your visitors can focus on taking the action you want them to take.

A few examples include Learn more about me, Book a free call, Check out my services, Read my blog, Download checklist… you get the idea. The main purpose of your website should be to a) get them to sign up for your list or b) get them to book a free call. Either of these options allows you to start building a relationship with them and nurture them until they are ready to become clients.

6. Be consistent

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but success doesn’t happen overnight. But, you must remain consistent if you want to see results. When you consistently show up for your people they will take notice and they will start to see you as someone who can be trusted, someone who is here for the long haul, someone who wont disappear on them. Which brings me to my next point….

7. Build trust

All of the above steps? They help you build trust babe, and trust is the key to building a successful business. Trust is how you get people to recognize you as the perfect person to help them with their problem. So continue showing up, continue sharing your awesomeness and the world will notice you.

There you have it friend, in 7 easy steps, you can create a powerful visibility plan that will help you get noticed by your ideal clients.
